Biography

Kate Kennedy is an award-winning writer and broadcaster. Author of Cello – A Journey through Silence to Sound, Dweller in Shadows: A Life of Ivor Gurney, and editor of Lives of Houses, Literary Britten and The Silent Morning, she combines research, creative writing and musicology to write and present programmes for Radio 3 such as The Essay and The Sunday Feature. She is a Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford, and of the Royal Historical Society, and Director of the Oxford Centre for Life-writing, and the Museum of Music History.
