British artist Es Devlin’s practice is documented in a major retrospective at the Design Museum, London (2026) and a landmark sculptural Thames & Hudson monograph An Atlas of Es Devlin. Her work for the Royal Ballet and Opera includes Orphée, Salome, Les Troyens, Don Giovanni, Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, Connectome and The Unknown Soldier. Other theatre includes Archduke, Girls and Boys and The Nether (Royal Court), Hamlet (RSC), The Hunt, American Psycho and Chimerica (Almeida), Dear England, The Lehman Trilogy, The Motive and the Cue, The Crucible, Coriolanus, Light Shining in Buckinghamshire and Ugly Lies the Bone (National Theatre). Art Installations include A National Portrait (National Portrait Gallery), The Everythingists (V&A East), Library of Us (Faena, Miami), Congregation (St Mary le Strand), Come Home Again (Tate Modern), I Saw the World End (Imperial War Museum) and PoemPortraits (Serpentine Gallery). Concerts include Formation and Renaissance (Beyoncé), U2:UV at the Sphere (U2) and The Weeknd. Ceremonies include Super Bowl halftime shows (2021, 2022) and Olympic ceremonies (London, Rio). Awards include the London Design Medal, three Olivier Awards and a Tony Award. She is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and Visiting Professor of Contemporary Theatre at Oxford University.
